While the Saginaw Chippewa-owned Soaring Eagle Casino & Sports was the last online casino and sports operator to go to market in the state of Michigan, it took little to no time at all in order to get into the live casino space. Live dealer provider Evolution reached an online casino agreement for content with Soaring Eagle Gaming. While heavily focused on live gaming, Evolution’s gaming catalog and its online offerings are part of the deal in addition to providing Soaring Eagle players with subsidiaries such as Red Tiger and NetEnt. This deal expands Evolution's presence in the state of Michigan.

Live gaming has become extremely popular over the past few years. When physical casinos shut down and players still wanted the experience of an in-person casino, they went to the sites that had live games available in their catalogue. The live dealer casino experience combines the social aspect of a real casino while allowing players to wager from the convenience of their own home. In the live dealer setting, an actual person flips the cards or spins the wheel, live from a broadcast studio. For the agreement with Evolution and Soaring Eagle, the studio is located in Southfield, Michigan.  From the first day of the partnership, players at Soaring Eagle Casino & Sports have access to all of Evolution’s live casino and first-person titles. They also can play Red Tiger slot games including popular choices such as Piggy Riches Megaway and Gonzo’s Quest Megaways. In the upcoming few weeks, NetEnt titles will be available to players gambling at Soaring Eagle. These games include classics like Starburst, Fruit Shop Megaways, and Divine Fortune Megaways.  Commercial Director for North America at Evolution, Jeff Millar said that the company is thrilled that Soaring Eagle Casino is live with a wide variety of games from the brands under the Evolution name in Michigan. He went on to say that players at Soaring Eagle will have a better immersive and more unique online gaming experience than any other casino in the state of Michigan. Melinda Coffin, CEO of Soaring Eagle Casino, is beyond excited about the new games that Evolution is able to offer. While the table games were established as some of the biggest gaming actions in the Midwest at Soaring Eagle, players can now take the thrill of the physical casino experience online by playing not only casino classics but also new, entertaining game show-type games. Coffin believes that new and existing customers are going to really enjoy what’s to come for the upcoming Soaring Eagle developments.

What Does This Mean in Michigan?

In the state of Michigan, 12 out of the 15 online gambling licenses in the state are held by tribal gaming organizations. Out of the 12, most went to partner with major operators in the online gaming industry such as Golden Nugget and DraftKings which is a product that many are familiar with. 4 out of the 12 however, decided to keep their retail casino brand at the forefront and push their name in their online product. The four casinos are; Soaring Eagle, Firekeepers, Four Winds, and Play Gun Lake. This route was trickier than those who went with the big-time operators as it took them a bit longer to go to market with their product. Additionally, there are game limitations compared to the bigger brands as the major players in the industry have already existing relationships with third parties who supply many of the popular games in the industry. Because of this, the 4 tribal brands essentially had to start from scratch. While Eagle Casino & Sports was the last to launch, it was the first tribal brand to make a deal with Evolution. However, that doesn’t mean that the other casinos haven’t made deals either. Play Gun Lake has a partnership with Playtech, an Evolution rival. Gun Lake uses Parx Interactive as a technology partner, who also has a relationship with Playtech.
