Crucible Gaming x CasinoRange - Quarterback Fields of Glory Q&A

Quarterback Fields of Glory

Spokesperson - Edward Byard, founder and CEO of Crucible Gaming

1) Can you run us through what players can expect from Quarterback Fields of Glory in terms of gameplay?
You can expect wall to wall action – a high hit rate, frequent bonuses and all the excitement of game day. With 243 ways to win and a whole host of generous bonus features, there really is a lot to enjoy.
In terms of features, we have Free Spins, a Foam Finger Bonus that can see players reveal prizes up to 1,000x and the Fields of Glory Bonus that offers players the choice of three features, Run the Yards, Field Goal and Pick a Ball. Run the Yards awards 1x the total bet for every yard a player runs up the field, Field Goal will award a random prize for kicking the ball between the posts and Pick a Ball is a pick and click mini game that also awards a random prize. Any of these bonuses can award a Mini, Minor, Major or Grand jackpot in place of a regular prize.
Ultimately our end goal was to develop a game that’s super engaging and immersive; and with the commentary from a real US sportscaster, we think we’ve got a great game on our hands that players will enjoy time and again.

2) Crucible Gaming is a studio based in England, what inspired you to develop a game based on American football?
Just as soccer is gaining popularity in the US, American Football is also gaining in popularity too over this side of the pond. Some of us have been following the NFL for a very long time and remember players like the great Joe Montana and many others. Although we’re four thousand miles away, put simply: we’re fans. We felt we could make a great game that football fans would enjoy and genuinely want to return to.

3) How difficult is it to create a new slot for a very specific American audience?

Oh, it’s hard alright. US players are different from European players, in terms of what they expect from a game – hit rates, average pays and look & feel of a game are different. Thankfully we have long experience of this from many visits to the US and talking directly to players to get a better understanding of what it is they want from their online slots. Thanks to our extensive research we now feel very confident in our overall approach to this game’s design and math and any other US-facing games we put out in the not-so-distant future!
4) Considering sports betting is becoming so popular in America, do you think we’ll start to see more sports-themed games?

Yes 100% - there’s so much scope to improve on current offerings, and also look at branded game deals with stars from many different sports. There’s also crossover potential to get customers from sportsbook to casino and vice-versa. The key is choosing the right game mechanic that it attracts and retains all players – not only sports fans. That’s not an easy thing to do.
5) Can you tell us what your next US-focused game will be?
Next up is Cherry 8. If you remember the 8-line cherry amusement machines in almost every bar, truck stop, gas station, amusement hall and 101 other places around the country, you’ll know this game already. No one has done an online version yet – so we made one! The interest in this game has been off the scale and we can’t wait to unleash it in the US!
