Where did the inspiration come from for Scales of Dead?

We’ve been experimenting with free spins within the free spins in other titles, like the Shield Spins in The Green Knight, or the Temple Spins in Legacy of Inca. This time we wanted to bring this type of gameplay into the Dead series and to offer a powerhouse of entertainment in doing so.

As a game in the Dead series, the primary gameplay mechanic revolves around expanding symbols. In this particular iteration, the volatility is increased, offering a maximum win of 20,000x your bet, a significant boost compared to the 5,000x your bet in Book of Dead.

What sets it apart is the added potential introduced through Sandstorm spins, a feature triggered by landing two scatter symbols during free spins, a departure from the usual requirement of three scatters. This change enhances the anticipation and excitement of the game.

When the Sandstorm Spin feature activates, you'll be granted four spins. During these spins, your expanding symbol will receive a randomly assigned win multiplier of 2x, 3x, or 4x. We think players will love this new approach from us.

What was the most enjoyable part about developing Scales of Dead?

It was a blast from its inception, but if I had to point out just one thing, it was seeing how well the game came together with the gameplay, animations, soundtrack, and sound effects. It’s one of those games that tells a story from start to finish, a story that we hope players will find engaging.

The slot takes a unique twist on the Egyptian theme. How hard was it to come up with new concepts for such a tried and tested slot genre?
