The online roulette game has different preferences when placing your bets. You can either place bets on a single number or a group of numbers. The more bets you place, the more your chance of winning increases. But as you would imagine, placing more bets doesn’t guarantee a win. Generally, there are three main types of roulette bet.

Type of Roulette Bets

The three types of roulette bet shouldn’t be mistaken for the strategies. Here is a quick run through the types of betting.

Inside Bets

If you observe the roulette table shown below, you will notice that the main table consists of numbers from 0 to 36. You’ll also see that there are specific numbers grouped into sectors. You place a bet on a single number to win. Placing inside bets provides you with a higher payout. However, your chances of winning are low.

Inside beds include:

Street bets involve a player betting on three consecutive numbers which are located on the same line.

Straight bets require the player to bet one number only. To do this, you’ll need to place the chip inside the square of the number.

Split bets involve betting on two numbers which are adjacent to each other on the roulette table.

Trio bet is a system where the player bets on three numbers including zero or zeros.

There are several effective roulette strategies, including Alembert Strategy, Martingale Strategy or Fibonacci Strategy. With a practical approach and a basic understanding of the game, you will know which number to pick when playing online roulette.

Outside Bets

Outside bets are placed outside the number field. The sectors being the focus area covers the bigger group of numbers. Players place bets on the factors surrounding these numbers. You can either choose the red bet or black bet. Or the low or high bet. Also, you can place bets on number dozens found on the table and columns bets.

Announced Bets

The announced bets are betting combinations that cover distinct chip of numbers, yielding at least one straight number and different splits. This bet has different subtypes as preferences, and one common type is the neighbours. Announced bets also vary in different groups. Some of these groups include:

Jeu Zero : Also known as “Grands Voisins du Zéro”, this bet uses nine chips (or multiples of nine). These chips are split across different bets.

Players need to play two chips on the  0-2-3 trio. One on the 4-7 split, one on 12-15, one on 18-21 and one on 19-22.

Voisin du zero : In this bet, four chips are split across different bets. One bet on 12-15, 0-3, and 32-35. Additionally, one chip is placed on 1-26. Jeu zero covers seven numbers which include 12, 35, 3, 26, 0, 32, and 15.

Le tiers du cylinder : referred to as the thirds of the wheel, Le tiers du cylinder uses 12 numbers which are splits into six different bets. It also uses six chips which are placed on 5-8, 10-11, 13-16, 23-24, 27-30, and 33/36.

Upon knowing the different types of roulette bets, strategic actions can be adopted to increase your chances of winning. Depending on the amount you intend staking, it is essential to note that each roulette game has its distinct betting limits. At this point, we advise you to choose a roulette game that matches your need when playing on an online casino.
