Must try harder would be our overall rating for Santa and his raft of Pots and Pearls. We can partially excuse such a poor RTP range if the production values and gameplay go the extra mile. Sadly, that isn’t the case here. On the plus side, there is at least a lot going on in the base game, courtesy of the Instant Win Scatters, Expanding Wilds, and Jackpot potential, but, for us, that wasn’t enough to save Santa from tumbling down our rankings. No soundtrack, middle-of-the-road visuals, and an underwhelming max win…we will be hoping for better next time we reach below the slots Christmas Tree.

Barring a couple of nicely attired Christmas Trees, there’s not too much going on in the static backdrop, although the childlike Santa symbol does at least brighten up proceedings.

We fully expected a rendition of Jingle Bells or When Santa Got Stuck Up The Chimney to provide the theme tune. Instead, we get nothing but stony silence. The only auditory entertainment is found in the galloping reel effects and escalating electronic flourishes accompanying wins.

Our Verdict A distinctly average presentation, with neither the graphics nor the sadly lacking audio, doing anything to elevate this release above the competition.
