Caesars Sportsbook Becomes Official Betting Partner Of New York Mets

Before Steve Cohen purchased the New York Mets in November of 2020, the Wilpon family was in-charge and aggravated fans to no end. Whether it was losing out on big name free agents or not resigning the Met’s best players because of an expensive contract, fans believed that the Wilpon’s were doing everything in their power to ruin the Mets. Fast forward to Cohen purchasing the team and Mets fans finally had a glimmer of hope that their team would turn it around. Cohen proved them right as the Mets brought in top tier talent with big price tags attached like Francisco Lindor, Starling Marte, and Max Scherzer. It became apparent that Cohen was not afraid of spending money and making improvements to the team. This thought was enforced when it was announced that Caesars Sportsbook became the official betting partner of the New York Mets.   On April 6th, Caesars Entertainment signed a multiple-year partnership with the Mets, with a physical sportsbook to be put in Citi Field as well, which is expected to lead to VIP experiences. The Excelsior level at Citi Field will provide a multi-tiered dining room with patio seating outdoors to show a panoramic view that overlooks the left field. The Caesars Sportsbook at the Metro Grille officially opened for the Mets’ home opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks on April 15th. The 13,000 square foot sportsbook and restaurant is only open during home Mets games.    

Chris Holdren, the Caesars Digital Co-President believes that the state of New York was a key part of the Caesar Sportsbook app launch in January. Holdren calls Mets fans the “most loyal in baseball” and the partnership between the Mets and Caesars gives those fans the chance to be treated like Caesars. The Caesars Rewards program is also tied into the new sportsbook as their loyalty program allows bettors to earn points which can be redeemed for dining experiences and hotel visits, adding to the offering Caesars provides with VIP and hospitality experiences. With the new partnership, Caesars now has full access to Mets trademarks and logos to use on all media and advertising. They are also able to put Caesars branding around Citi Field and on their social media channels. While Caesars is already an authorized partner with Major League Baseball, this is the first MLB team that Caesars has a partnership with. Caesars has also had partnerships with programs such as the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Louisiana State University and Michigan State University. As of January 8th, 2022, Caesars' online sportsbook went live in New York and is currently live in 22 other states in America.   

With the Caesars online sportsbook app, bettors can wager on the New York Mets or any of the 29 other teams in Major League Baseball. As long as players are in a legal state, all they have to do is download the Caesars Sportsbook app, make a first deposit, and place their wager. Bettors can bet on a single game basis or on future team bets, whatever wagers they think will come to fruition.
