Could we see Casinos heading to the Xbox Series X

Just over a year ago, Microsoft teased the gaming world with the next-generation Xbox games console at their E3 press conference. Recently they gave a detailed look at how games on the new system will look.

As we move closer to the release window of holiday 2020, more and more details are coming out about what we can expect from the Series X console.

There is big talk at the moment that, given the current situation worldwide, online casino access could be possible on Microsoft’s newest Xbox system.

What is under the hood of the Xbox Series X

Before we get into this discussion, we must first look at the hardware that would be powering the casino gaming experience.

The first place to start is with the processor, and it is a definite leap ahead of what we are currently using. The Head of Development for Xbox, Phil Spencer, has said that it will be four times more powerful than the current Xbox One X consoles and will be to create more immersive worlds, allow for more exploration and generate greater detail within those worlds. The big thing this Xbox is going for is reducing loading times within the games to almost nil.

The graphics of the system have also been improved massively as well. They can now deliver on the future of gaming which is 8K video resolution. Granted, this may not be a big selling point at the initial point of sale, as many of us do not have the screens or TVs capable of supporting this resolution output level at the moment, though this does future proof the console for when this level of technology is more readily available in people’s homes. However, there is good news for early adopters as the system will be running with variable refresh rates as well as high dynamic range, which means the image will be the best possible that your current screen can produce.

Casino games on the Xbox

There has also been a flurry of titles announced for the new system, but there does not seem to be anything that purely caters for the casino game crowd as yet.

Given what is going on in the world, maybe one of the more prominent casino brands could work with a developer to try and recreate what it is like to visit a casino, without maybe as much monetary cost.

Some casino games like Poker have been recreated quite well by Rockstar in their Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption series. Both systems have been praised for their realism and what they bring to the game. This could show some developers that there is some interest in the online casino game genre.

Were actual online casino games made possible on the new console, it would certainly be a popular move for current players. The action would look better than ever, and the experience would be super immersive. Creating the same feeling as being in an actual casino has always been the aim of online casino operators, so this would mean a great stride in that direction.

The only big issue for creating an online casino game for a console such as the Xbox is that there are some legal issues to contend with. As Xbox is a global brand, a developer would need to abide by the laws in each country that the game would be released in.

Nonetheless, there’s a lot to be excited for with the arrival of the Series X console in November time (hopefully). There are many advances promised, and we are looking at a price in the region of £500. Let’s wait and see what happens.
