MLB has formally confirmed that the first week of spring training games is to be rescheduled due to the current lockout. This work stoppage is ongoing and the 9th in Major League Baseball History. At this time of the year, baseball fans would be getting ready for the beginning of the season and betting online on their favorites to win. Instead, they will have to wait until this matter is sorted. As it stands, Major League Baseball season in 2022 is set to begin on March 31 and finish on October 2nd. Read on to find out more about the MLB lockout.

If the owners and players union are unable to reach an agreement on a new labor contract by Monday, MLB will begin canceling games during the regular season. Additionally, the players would not get compensated for those games, and MLB has declared that they would not be rescheduled. Major League Baseball has experimented with different rule changes in the minors and independent clubs in an attempt to improve the level of play and promote activity. Commissioner Rob Manfred, on the other hand, has been unable to persuade the union to work with his office on any of the suggested improvements, such as larger bases, infield shift restrictions, and the installation of a pitch clock. While team owners may be able to alleviate this fear by lifting the lockout while the two sides talk, numerous sources claim that MLB has never considered this as a viable option.

Baseball is traditionally one of the most beloved and timely US sports, and there are so many more fans who should be captivated by fascinating athletes participating in one of the best tournaments in the world. Hopefully, it doesn’t last any longer than planned.
