Graphics and Theme
Pay Dirt’s theme is centred around the great American West gold rush, which took place in California and Oregon in around 1848. All the design features have been created to look like that pioneering time when everyone was trying to get a piece of the new treasure buried in the hills. Cleverly, the board itself looks like it is underground, with a mining village sitting on top of the reels. The symbols range from pickaxes to dynamite and mules, with the Pay Dirt sign acting as the scatter for the game. One of the most interesting features is the pick-it game that gives you a choice to explore, which is a fun design element to bring players into the game. The music is a jubilant bluegrass tune full of banjos, fiddles, and scratchboards, which fits perfectly with the American West aesthetic.

How To Play Pay Dirt Slot
Real Time Gaming makes setting up and playing Pay Dirt easy with a range of betting options provided along the screen’s bottom. Using this menu, players can set the bet per spin and win and loss limits. Once these parameters are set, players may spin the reels. This can be done either by using the manual spin button or by setting up automatic spins. To win, players must match symbols across pay lines from left to right.
Pay Dirt Slot Features
There are three main bonus features for this game, all of which are triggered by the scatter symbol’s collection, which in this case is the Pay Dirt sign logo symbol. If players land three or more of this symbol on the reels simultaneously, the bonus screen will appear. Once this occurs, the player is given a choice between three mining signs which will determine the bonus game they get to play. The player’s choice will mean they either get to play the Gold Rush, Gold Fever or Strike it Lucky bonus game.
If you get to play the Gold Rush feature, this gives players 12 free spins on the reels. However, for this bonus round, Gold Nugget symbols’ collections appear on the reels at random. The Gold Nugget symbol in this game is the wild. Therefore, when you play the Gold Rush feature, you not only get free spins, but these spins are more likely to trigger wins, as the frequency of the wild symbol is increased for the duration of the feature. If players land another three or more Pay Dirt signs during the feature, they can retrigger the round, which gives players another 12 free spins.
The Gold Fever bonus game is similar; however, players are only given five free spins. For this round, though, the middle reel is made up completely of Gold Nuggets. Therefore, the player’s chance of triggering wins is increased again. As with the Gold Rush feature, an additional five free spins will be granted if players land three or more of the scatters within the game.
Lastly, there is the Strike it Lucky feature. In this feature, players are taken to a separate screen which shows five mine entrances. Each of the mines has within it a bonus symbol. You are asked to pick a mine until all the mine’s bonus symbols are revealed. After this selection stage is completed, players are given ten free spins. All of the bonus symbols revealed in the previous screen that may appear are replaced with the Golden Nugget symbol in the free spins game, increasing the players’ chances of triggering wins. As with the other two features, the feature can be retriggered if players collect another three or more of the scatter symbols from within the feature.
Pay Dirt also has a random progressive jackpot feature. Located above the playing screen, above the mining village graphics, players will always spot a progressive jackpot number growing. You can win the progressive jackpot with any combination or bet size, as the win is completely dolled out at random. So, keep an eye out for that too.
