A decent offering from Eyecon, but one which seems unlikely to be hitting the slots headlines. The theme itself is a little humdrum, with nothing to really grab the attention in terms of audio or visual effects. Further points are lost for the customisable RTP, which falls below the industry average even at the high end. A max win of 500x is also disappointing for a slot of this volatility rating, particularly given the low betting range of the game. On a more positive note, the Prize Pick feature does add a dose of excitement to the base game, and the retriggering Bonus Round works well. Overall, this is a decent - but not great - slot for those seeking a solid fruit symbol-laden retro experience.

How To Play Hot off the Press Slot

In keeping with the theme of the game, the 5x3 grid is set into a Newspaper Printing Press. The game’s four low-paying symbols of Cherries, Bananas, Oranges and Bells will be familiar to anyone who has played a traditional fruit machine, as will the five high-paying symbols of Single, Double, and Triple Bars, and a pair of 7 icons.

The higher-paying collection of symbols will reward you with 500x-2500x for five in a row.

Wins are triggered by connecting three or more symbols on any of the game’s 25 paylines, beginning on reel 1. The only exceptions to this are the premium Red and Blue 7 icons, which require only two on a payline to generate a win.

The “Hot off the Press” Logo acts as the game’s Wild Symbol, substituting for all standard symbols to help create winning lines. Two Logo icons anywhere on the reels will also award a win of 3x your total bet.
