Are you bored of the usual Blackjack you’ve played so much in casinos? If the answer is yes, please keep reading as we have an exciting alternative that you might’ve heard of to share with you. This is Double Attack Blackjack.

What Is Double Attack Blackjack?

Double Attack Blackjack is a fun variation of the popular casino game Blackjack. It has drawn many comparisons to another favorite: Spanish 21; this is because both games have all of the ten cards removed from the deck. Double Attack Blackjack is available to play for real money at online casinos, but you can wager on it on the Las Vegas strip or in Atlantic City. If you’re planning on that, keep reading this Double Attack Blackjack how-to-play guide.

What are The Basic Rules of Double Attack Blackjack?

Double Attack Blackjack is fairly simple, and we’re here to guide you every step of the way.

First things first, you’ll need to make your wager. You’ll place your chips in the circle in front of you. At this point, you will also have the option to play the side bet ‘Bustit’. This bet wins if the dealer goes bust within three cards.

Double Attack Blackjack: How to Play

Step One: The dealer will then give each player one card facing up; players then have the option to raise their stake up to double the original amount. You can bet lower than double but not more than double. These bets are known as ‘Double Attack Bets’ Once the ‘Double Attack Bets’ have all been placed, all players will receive their second face-up card, and the dealer will get a card face-down.

Step Two: If the dealer pulls an ace, players will be offered insurance. This pays 5/2 if the dealer has Blackjack. After you’ve decided on insurance, the dealer will check their second card- if they have blackjack, the hand will end. Players with blackjack will receive their stake back (push) players who don’t will lose.

Step Three: The round will then continue if no one has blackjack. If a player has blackjack, they will be instantly paid an even return. Players without blackjack then have four options:

  • Hit: Tap the table in front of the cards to receive one card, you can keep hitting until you reach 21 or go bust.
  • Stand: Make a wave gesture over the bet; your round will end here as your hand is set.
  • Split: If you are dealt a pair, for example, two kings, you can split them up with the original stake wagered on each to create two hands.
  • Double down: Place an additional bet next to your original stake, and you will receive just one card. The bet can be equal to the original stake, but not more.
  • Surrender: To surrender, simply run your finger in front of your bet. Your hand will fold, and you will receive half of your bet back.

How Do I Beat The Dealer?

After all players have acted, the dealer’s card is revealed. If they have 17 or greater, they are obliged to stand; if the dealer has below 16, they must hit until reaching 17 or bust! If you beat the dealer, you will be paid out an even return, but if the dealer wins, the house takes your full stake.  The key Double Attack Blackjack strategy is simply knowing when to take advantage of the Double Attack feature and when to leave it. This is very basic-if the dealer reveals a card between 2 and 8- increase that bet!
