Quickspin always seems to try and break the mould a little bit, and Arcane Gems has attempted to do this by excluding the usually popular and ever-present Wild symbols and free spins.

But did they pull it off?

This Quickspin slot has done away with Wilds and the traditional Free Spins Bonus games core to most other slots. While a novel idea, it wasn't exciting in practice. How To Play Arcane Gems Slot

Arcane Gems is a simple game that revolves around the locked symbol respins.

Before you do anything, you will need to wager your stake between £0.10 and £50 per spin.

Then you're ready to hit the spin button or use the auto play feature, which can perform up to 1000 spins for you.

Just know that if you're in the UK, you won't be able to use the auto play option due to legislation.

The max payout of 5625x your stake can be triggered by locking high-paying diamond symbols and combining numerous respins with large multipliers.

Symbols

The low-paying symbols are small gems taking the shape of card suits.

There's not a lot going on in terms of Bonuses and features in this game. There are no Free Spins Bonus rounds or Wild-related features.

There are only two features to speak of, a Locking Wins feature that gives re-spins and a subsequent Multiplier feature.

Arcane Locking Feature

This feature triggers when you land three or more symbols in a winning combo.

The symbols used in the highest winning combo will lock into position, while the rest of the symbols respin.

If more of the same symbols land on the respin, they lock and the other symbols respins again.

This feature will repeat itself until no more winning symbols land, and your winnings will be paid out in full on the first losing re-spin.

Arcane Multipliers

If, after activating the Arcane Locking feature, you fill an entire reel with the same winning symbol, you will be awarded Arcane Multipliers.

The Multipliers awarded are randomly selected between 2x and 5x, and will be applied to the rest of your wins made during the feature.

If you trigger more than one multiplier, they will be added together.

This is how you unlock the max win of the slot by landing a full screen of the highest-paying Diamond symbol with five 5x Multipliers.

Nothing particularly interesting or ground-breaking is going on with the visuals; even the 3D feel the gems received seems a bit off.

The soundtrack and sound effects are better and befitting of a modern title, but still, nothing to write home about.

If there was a gem that summarised the Arcane Gems audiovisuals, it would be grey or perhaps beige – completely inoffensive but not really exciting or interesting.
