Conan Slot Review

Conan Slot Overview

Entering the savage world of Conan, the Barbarian is not for the faint of heart. This fantasy game set in the ice and snow of some prehistoric tundra enduring village is everything you want from this theme combined with some excellent gameplay options and thrilling bonuses.  This exciting mythological video slot is brought to you by NetEnt and is played on a 6-reel, 4-row table with 24 pay lines. To win, players must match various symbols across the board from left to right. Conan has a raft od bonuses that elevate gameplay. These include a variety of wilds features as well as the unique Thoth-Amon Feature, which is a combination of all the wilds symbols coming together as one. Bets for Conan range from 20p to £200 for high rollers. The maximum win or potential pillaging haul as it should be referred to is a mighty 1008x your stake. Conan is a medium to high variance slot with a return to player of 96.01%.

Graphics and Theme

Fittingly, this rich but well-trodden theme is set in a snowy tribal village. All the symbols are suitably illustrated as objects of war. There are iron helmets, glinting swords and of course Conan himself, portrayed as a long-haired brute surrounded by a golden frame. The game’s developers have created the board to look as though it is constructed from wood, iron and sturdy rope and looks harmonious with the village’s rudimental tribal aesthetic.  The bonus games all have their own settings, which are equally as well designed from the Temple of the Serpent to the City of Thieves. The backing track is a drum thumping tribal war anthem typically suited to the kind of serpent slaying violence shown in some of the brilliant cut scenes. Big wins are indicated when Conan’s famous sword is thrust dramatically into the ground and accompanied by growing golden numbers shining in the light.

Conan themed slots are always good fun, but NetEnt’s version has stepped up the enjoyment. Not only is this because of the excellent graphics but the gameplay. The multi-level free spins mini-games and the fantastic selection of Wilds features gives depth to this well-executed slot. From the Conan fight cut scenes to the dramatic base game action, NetEnt have been very thorough with this game’s development. Medium volatility also helps create more frequent and hopefully bigger wins too.

How To Play Conan Slot

Before spinning the reels, it is important to look at the current stake amounts and edit them to a comfortable limit for your game. Simply adjust the coin value using the up and down keys indicated in the settings menu. You may also set an upper- and lower-win limit for your feature, to keep you within your ascribed budget.  Once these settings, as well as any other options you would like to change, are settled, you may then begin spinning the reels. You can do this manually or by setting up auto spins in the settings menu.

Conan Slot Features

There are a number of special features you can trigger in Conan. These are split between Wilds features and Free Spins features. There are three Wilds features which are explained below.

The Tower Wilds feature is triggered when players land a blue tower on reels 1 and 2. The special blue tower will expand to potentially cover the full reel in wilds. This obviously can then create winning combos by matching more symbols.

The Mystery Symbols feature is triggered when players land one or more mystery symbols on reel 3 and 4. These mystery symbols then transform into matching symbols. If they land stacked on top of each other, you will trigger the Mystery Multiplier feature. For this, an animation of Conan will appear fighting a terrifying serpent. For every blow that Conan lands on the serpent, the multiplier grows by one. Your base for this multiplier is 3x, yet with Conan’s ensuing battle it can grow to 7x. If you are lucky enough to land a Mystery symbol with a Tower Wild and a Battle Wild, you will then activate the Toth Amon feature. This grants players 3 to 6 Mystery symbols on reels 2 and 5. This can combine to make some great combos.

The Battle Wild feature is triggered when you land a red battle wild on reel 5 or 6. Like the Tower symbol, this Battle symbol can expand, but this time it expands sideways up to 3-reel positions

As another added bonus which does not fit into the Wilds category, there is also a feature called the Twin Spin. It can be triggered at any time during the base game. This feature is active when a reel pair light up. The Twin Reels feature grants players identical symbols, which help in winning combinations. As opposed to the base game, when activated in any free spins round, this feature can link all six reels simultaneously.

The Free Spins round (typical of NetEnt’s style) is split into different games. These are triggered when players land 3, 4, 5 or 6 scatters on the same spin. This will give you 10, 15, 25 or 50 free spins respectively. The Free Spin rounds options, as mentioned, are split into three games, these are:

The City of Thieves – This game gives you Tower Wilds that can land anywhere on the reels and can expand to cover the whole of each reel.

The Temple of the Serpent – This is probably the riskiest but also most entertaining gambit. Mystery symbols and stacked icons can land on any of the reels in this game. When players land fully stacked Mystery Symbols, this then triggers a useful multiplier of 7x. If you are lucky enough to land any additional Mystery symbols over 5, you will (as in the base game) trigger the Thoth Amen feature.

Walls of Tarantia – This feature gives players Battle wilds that can expand sideways up to 3-reel positions.
