Nightmare on Elm Street Slot Review

Nightmare on Elm Street Slot Overview

Random Logic has produced an online slot based upon the legendary horror franchise Nightmare on Elm Street. This five-reel, 30 pay line slot starts with a warning about the violent nature of the slot, which is none too surprising from a slot based on Freddy Krueger’s movies.

Slot basic information

Taking inspiration from the gory set of movies from the 80s, this slot has the film of the over 35-year-old franchise. The first thing that players will pick up on is the creepy music that is playing from the minute you load up the slot.  The game does an excellent job at creating a scary atmosphere. Freddy stands tall on the left-hand side of the screen, and main symbols are a selection of characters from the films. The other symbols in the game are a blood-splattered version of the nine, ten, Jack, Queen, King and Ace playing cards.

The special symbols are a ‘Never Sleep Again’ bonus, which is a scatter symbol which activates the free spins of the slot. A ‘Pick Me’ which triggers a mini-game, and a silhouette of the Freddy Krueger symbol appears.

How To Play Nightmare on Elm Street Slot

Nightmare on Elm Street is an easy to play online slot. The pay lines are fixed, so you always have to play the maximum number of lines. However, you can adjust your bet, using the five buttons at the bottom of the screen. The bet buttons also start the reels spinning, as soon as you set your bet. If you do not want to change your bet each time, you may prefer to use the autoplay button.

Nightmare on Elm Street Slot Features

This slot has a total of five different bonus features; these are: Never Sleep Again; Pick me; Free Spins; Expanding Wild and the progressive jackpot.

Never Sleep Again

This will be triggered when you land on three bonus symbols on the reels. This triggers a mini-game in which you have to try and stay awake by picking items such as coffee, a phone or a TV to try and help you avoid Freddy in your dreams. The mini-game does end when you close your eyes, and you fall asleep. You will get prizes based upon the number of items that you do pick.

Pick me

This will be a reward when you land on the wild symbols on reels one and five; several symbols will be displayed to you, and once you pick one, you will receive a prize. If you are lucky, you will be able to have another pick as well.

Free Spins

There are free spins on offer here and occur as follows:

  • Three scatters- Ten spins
  • Four scatters- 20 spins
  • Five scatters- 30 spins

Unfortunately, there are no multipliers on offer here, and you are not able to re-trigger this feature either.

Expanding Wild

When you get a wild symbol on the third reel, it will expand into a full-size silhouette of the man himself which will cover the entire reel. All wins that it contributes to on the spin will be subject to a double multiplier.

Progressive Jackpot

There are two progressive jackpots in this slot game: The Freddy Krueger Jackpot and The Nightmare on Elm Street jackpot. The Nightmare on Elm Street is the higher of the two pots. They are both awarded randomly but the more that you bet, the higher the chance you will have of the bigger money.

Nightmare on Elm Street Slot on Mobile

Nightmare on Elm Street slot has been adapted for both smartphones and tablets. The design is pretty very similar to that of the desktop with just the positions of buttons, and there are also some elements moved around to fit the device screen.
