Toon popping fun returns with the sequel to the popular game Reactoonz. This new edition: Reactoonz 2, retains many of the previous themes and ideas; however, slot designers at Play’n Go have added more features to increase the monster-zapping thrills. These include a new collection metre, new wilds reactions and a new 7×7 grid.
As with original Reactoonz, the eight monster symbols are divided into two groups – one-eyed monsters and two-eyed monsters and come in a variety of colours and personalities. A player achieves a win when bunches of five or more matching symbols touch horizontally or vertically initiating a cascade. Groups of 15 or more are the best combinations in the game and can multiply the stake by 3 to 500 times.
Although there are a variety of novel aspects, the game takes place within the familiar electric blue background, with the same characters that you know and love. Bets start at 20p per spin but can be raised to an exhilarating £100 per spin for those looking for larger prizes. The potential has been bumped up for the sequel also, with players able to win 5,083 times the stake.
Graphics and theme
The vibrant colours and electrically charged graphics in Reactoonz 2 create a fun and satisfying backdrop to this engaging sequel. Especially captivating is the electric wilds function, which creates an exciting explosion when triggered. As with the previous game, the little creatures are what makes the game so fun, as their little personalities sparkle on the grid.
In terms of what you can see in front of you, the symbols are arranged on the grid, ready to be zapped into oblivion. Below them, there is a display which shows your current total and underneath that a display of your current balance (on the left) your bet options (in the middle) and your current bet rate (on the right) along with the spin button and number of spins. To the left of the screen, there is a table of symbols with their corresponding values, to the right the two charging metres.
At its core, Reactoonz 2 is as simple as any online casino game, in that you win clusters to fill charge metres which in turn produce bigger prizes per spin. The ultimate goal in terms of bonus features is to unleash the huge 3×3 three-eyed alien creature wild named Gargantoon. However, there are also three other types of wilds- Energoon wild, Electric wild and uncharged wilds. The last in this group cannot perform substituting duties, nor do they form wins but have the potential to transform into electric wilds.
One area of relative complexity is the fluctuating symbols. For each spin one of the one-eyed symbols is chosen to fluctuate. If these symbols win, then an electric wild is generated in one of the freshly empty spaces, whilst also charging the Fluctometer. When this metre has reached its peak, 1-3 electric wilds are supplied to the grid. This can happen more than once but is prevented from doing so if the Gargantoon is let loose.
The Quantumeter is also something to keep an eye on, a feature which holds two wilds, Energoon and Gargantoon. To energise the wilds in this metre, you must make any non-wild symbols disappear from the grid by using an electric wild. As its name suggests, the Quantumeter comes into life with four levels and holds a total of 135 charges. Thus, at each level, you must gather a specific amount of charges to ensure its best use.
The level that you are currently playing at any time also comes with a variety of multipliers in the form of either two 1×1 or one 2×2 size Energoons or the gigantic 3×3 Gargantoon. What you are looking for here as mentioned is the 3×3 Gargantoon, which triggers an enormous cascade after which it is replaced by two 2×2 Gargantoon wilds. Once these two are triggered, then it separates further into nine 1×1 Gargantoon wilds.
Lastly, there is the Wild Pair Explosion, which is enabled once all other features have stopped, but you still have two electric wilds on the grid. This final feature grants you once the last attempt at winning and has a number of consequences. Two adjacent electric wilds will blow up all symbols (except wilds) in their area to clear the grid for a fresh cascade. However, if the electric wilds are not close to each other, all symbols between them and around them will be destroyed.
Game How to Play
Like many online casino games of this type, the aim is to encourage the destruction of the most symbols within the 50 turns you are allowed per game, filling up your win tally at the bottom of the screen which indicates the take-home figure. With each spin the player aims to create electric wilds by winning with fluctuating symbols, filling the Fluctometer and charging uncharged wilds. Electric wilds are then used to charge the Quantumeter. Partial fills add Energoon Wilds; a full charge releases Gargantoon Wilds. Each of these wilds adds a varying level of cascade value.
