Le Fisherman Slot Review

Smokey the raccoon goes fishing on Hacksaw Gaming's 6x5 cluster grid, where a Rainbow turns winning squares into coins worth up to 500x the bet.

Le Fisherman Slot Overview

Deep Purple had Smoke on the Water. Hacksaw Gaming has Smokey on the water: the moustached raccoon from Le Bandit, now in orange floaties and yellow wellies, out on a lake where treasure is said to lie on the bottom. The game info has him air-jamming with his rod and singing "Smokeeey on the waaater" to himself. The top prize is 15,000x your bet.

The grid is 6x5 and pays for clusters of five or more matching symbols. Winning squares go gold, a Rainbow turns that gold into coins, Clovers and Buckets, and three to five FS scatters open three rounds of free spins built around a Big Catch Bar. Le Fisherman went on general release on 5 February 2026, with an RTP of 96.33% in Hacksaw's rules and a volatility gauge that shows 3 out of 5.

The Buckets won us over. One good Rainbow can set off a chain in which Buckets empty their blocks and fresh symbols fill the gaps, before a Global Bucket collects from the whole grid. The Golden Squares have little new to show by now, although the Big Catch Bar gives each round of free spins a clear goal. Our reservation is the 86.25% version that casinos are allowed to choose. Le games regulars get a medium-volatility entry here, with 15,000x as your ceiling.

How To Play Le Fisherman Slot

Le Fisherman Rainbow on the reels — A Rainbow lands on the reels

Bets start at £0.10 a spin. UK rules cap each spin at £5, or £2 if you are 18 to 24.

Grid	Wins	Min Bet	Max Bet (UK)
6x5	Clusters of 5 or more	£0.10	£5.00

The card ranks 10 to A are the low symbols. Above them come a yellow hat, a float, a hook with a worm on it, an anchor and the fish, which pays the most: 12 or more fish return 100x your bet. The pink clam Wild stands in for every paying symbol, and the FS scatter, painted on a red and white life ring, opens the bonus rounds.

Le Fisherman Slot Paytable & Symbols

We read these values off the game's paytable at a £2 stake and list them as multiples of your total bet. The columns are cluster sizes: 5, 6 and 7 symbols, then 8 to 9, 10 to 11 and 12 or more. A cluster of five card ranks returns 0.1x. Five fish return 1x, and twelve or more fish pay 100x.

Le Fisherman Slot Paylines

There are no paylines. A win needs five or more matching symbols joined side by side or one above the other, anywhere on the grid, and a diagonal touch does not count.

Le Fisherman Slot Features

Super Cascades

A win removes the winning cluster and every other regular symbol of the same type. New symbols drop into the gaps, and the cascade carries on for as long as fresh wins form.

Golden Squares and Rainbows

Every square under a winning symbol turns gold. A Rainbow activates those squares once the cluster wins are paid, and each one reveals a special symbol:

Bronze Coins worth 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x or 4x the bet
Silver Coins worth 5x, 10x, 15x or 20x
Gold Coins worth 25x, 50x or 100x
Diamond Coins worth 150x, 250x or 500x
Green Clovers, which multiply the coins and Buckets on the squares next to them by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x or 20x
Gold Clovers, which apply the same multipliers to every coin and Bucket on the grid

The Epic Rainbow reveals a symbol on all 30 squares, gold or not. In the base game, the gold and the special symbols clear away when the spin ends.

Buckets

Buckets are the new part. After the Clovers have applied their multipliers, each Bucket collects the coins and the other activated Buckets in the 3x3 block around it, then holds the total. The squares it empties reveal fresh special symbols, so the chain can run again. A Global Bucket waits until the Buckets are done, then collects from the whole grid.

Le Fisherman Slot Bonus Features

Le Fisherman Slippery When Wet — Slippery When Wet

Le Fisherman Big Catch Bar — FS symbols fill the Big Catch Bar

On Thin Ice

Three FS scatters in the base game give 10 free spins on a frozen lake. Golden Squares now stay lit until a Rainbow activates them, and each FS symbol that lands moves the Big Catch Bar one step. Every fifth one takes you up a level and adds 5 free spins. At level 1, an activated Rainbow turns into a Green Clover; level 2 makes it a Global Bucket and level 3 a Gold Clover. At level 4, a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow lands on every spin.

Slippery When Wet

Four scatters give 10 free spins underwater, with the same bar. Here the Golden Squares stay for the whole round, even after a Rainbow has used them, and no coin is worth less than 1x.

Smokey Under Water

Five scatters in one base game spin open the hidden bonus: 10 free spins under the Slippery When Wet rules, with the bar fixed at level 4 from the first spin. FS symbols cannot land, and Hacksaw leaves this round out of the Buy Bonus menu. The bonus buy isn't available at UK-licensed casinos.

Our Verdict Twenty FS symbols stand between the start of On Thin Ice and level 4 of the Big Catch Bar. That is a long climb. You can watch the bar: every five FS symbols lift it a level and add five spins, and at the top a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow lands on every spin.

Le Fisherman Slot RTP & Volatility

RTP	Variable RTP	Volatility	Max Win
96.33%	Yes	MED (3 out of 5)	15,000x stake

Hacksaw's rules give Le Fisherman an RTP of 96.33%, above the 96.00% median of the 392 slot reviews we sampled (October 2026). The info screen in the game shows your casino's figure, and on the lowest setting that is 86.25%.

Our Verdict Every version looks alike on the reels. Over a long run the gap adds up, though: in theory, the top version pays back £96.33 for each £100 staked, and the bottom one £86.25. Your casino picks which one you get.

Le Fisherman Slot Graphics & Audio

Graphics

The grid sits in a wooden frame on a lake, with pine trees, green hills and fat white clouds behind it and a bucket of fish on top. Smokey stands in a small boat to the right, with his rod and a hat stuck with hooks, and greets you with a speech bubble that says "Bonjour!". The free spins change the set: the lake freezes over for On Thin Ice, and Slippery When Wet takes him underwater, dressed as a mermaid.

Le Fisherman lake and boat — The lake and the boat

Le Fisherman frozen lake — The frozen lake in On Thin Ice

Le Fisherman underwater scene — The underwater scene in Slippery When Wet

Audio

You hear a relaxed guitar tune in the base game, with the odd chirp of birdsong.

Our Verdict On a lake of calm water and pine trees, Smokey scowls from his boat in orange armbands, and the clash made us smile. The symbols are clear too. A Bucket is a plain tin pail and a Global Bucket a gold one, so you can tell them apart at once.

Le Fisherman Slot on Mobile

Smokey is after the treasure at the bottom of the lake, which is more than most anglers ask of a weekend off. Le Fisherman plays on iOS and Android smartphones and on tablets, so you can take the trip with you.

Le Fisherman FAQs

What do the Buckets do in Le Fisherman?

A Bucket collects every coin, and any other activated Bucket, in the 3x3 block around it. A Global Bucket does the same across the whole grid, and the squares they empty reveal new symbols.

What is the RTP of Le Fisherman?

96.33% on Hacksaw's standard setting. The lowest one a casino can choose is 86.25%, and you will find your figure on the info screen.

What is the max win on Le Fisherman?

15,000x your bet, in the base game or any bonus. The round ends as soon as you reach it, and any free spins left are lost.

Is Le Fisherman a high volatility slot?

No. The volatility gauge on the game's start screen shows 3 out of 5, the middle of Hacksaw's scale.

What happens when you land 5 scatters in Le Fisherman?

Five FS symbols in one base game spin start Smokey Under Water, the hidden bonus. You get 10 free spins with the Big Catch Bar locked at level 4, so a Rainbow or Epic Rainbow lands on every spin.

What is the difference between Le Fisherman and Le Bandit?

Le Fisherman swaps Le Bandit's Pots of Gold for Buckets and Global Buckets, adds Diamond Coins and the Epic Rainbow, and lets its Clovers multiply by up to 20x instead of 10x. Hacksaw caps it at 15,000 times the bet, against 10,000 times on Le Bandit.
