Swedish developer Yggdrasil has launched a new innovative slot technology, Gigablox. This is the developer’s third game-changing slot mechanic of 2020 and will debut in their new slot game, Lucky Neko Gigablox.
Set in a traditional shop in Japan, the 6×4, 40 pay line slot is transformed by this innovative Gigablox feature. The Gigablox feature is similar to Splitz, meaning that it involves multiple symbols in one. How it works essentially, is that at least one set of synced reels will appear on every spin to create a big block of symbols. On synced reels, Gigablox can land 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 sizes, and there can be more than one synced reel on each spin.
Below is a video explaining exactly what this new innovation is, directly from the developers themselves.
There is also a free spins round that happens when you land five or more Lucky Cat symbols. The reels will then change their orientation to portrait, presenting a 6×8 grid and even more paylines. One blessed symbol will be randomly picked and give you an x5 multiplier attached for the full free spin round.
In this mode, there is the possibility of a 6×6 Gigablox symbol landing on the reel, which has the potential to give a massive payout.
The mechanic follows in the footsteps of the other two incredible innovations that Yggdrasil have already brought out this year, which are Splitz and MultiMax. These were introduced in the popular game MultiFly.
Senior Product Strategist at Yggdrasil, Jonas Strandman, had this to say about the new innovation: “Every spin of Lucky Neko Gigablox is a joy to play. With the Gigablox reels, the next big win is just around the corner, and the free spins offer some serious win potential from time to time.
“We continue to drive innovation throughout the industry and can’t wait to see how the Gigablox mechanic is received by our fans across the globe.”
