Play'n GO Targets Record-Breaking Year in 2024 (Interview)

One of the giants of the online slot game world, Play'n GO had an excellent 2023. From exciting slot releases such as Scales of Dead and Ronin's Honour, to worldwide expansion, there were plenty of achievements to celebrate.

We spoke to Play'n GO's Affiliate Manager, Edward Eklund, to reflect on last year, and look ahead to what 2024 has in store.

What was the highlight for Play’n GO in 2023?

It’s hard to choose just one highlight to be honest, 2023 was a record-breaking year for the company, in a literal sense. We expanded our presence in the US, announced our sponsorship of MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, and broke our record number of rounds played in a single day in November. With that said, probably the highlight of the year was our record month in December- our highest number of rounds, highest number of active players, and highest GGR were all broken over the month. A really proud achievement for everyone here.

What was your favourite slot release last year, and why?

I really enjoyed Gargantoonz, which came out late last year. I’ve been a fan of the entire Toonz series, but this latest installment was, for me, the most fun of all. Grid slots were pioneered by Play'n GO, and we're really proud of the new features we have included in this one.

What do players have to look forward to from Play’n GO in 2024?

I can’t reveal too much of course, but we always want to find the formula for success and replicate it as frequently as possible. We’re really excited about all of our upcoming games, but one that stands out for me is Legion Gold Unleashed, which comes out in February. We also have the latest Dead series games, Cat Wilde and the Incan Quest, and Banquet of Dead, which players can expect to see in February and March respectively.

With Cat Wilde and Rich Wilde sequels due for release in the first quarter of this year - can you put your finger on what makes these such popular slot series?

We’ve been saying for many years that players want an engaging story and characters in the games they play. You can’t simply re-skin games and push them at players expecting success. We’re proud of our Ips, and we think players get genuinely excited about the latest adventures that their favourite characters embark on via our games.

What would a successful 2024 look like for Play’n GO?

As mentioned, we had a record-breaking 2023. We’re not specifically setting out to break those records again, but we do want to replicate our success across the entire calendar year. We have a publicly-stated goal of being active in every regulated market in the world, and we’re always looking to add new operators and reach more players.
