Louisiana maintains a full spectrum of legalized gambling—including retail casinos, video draw poker, sports wagering, lottery, and charitable gaming—strictly regulated under RS Title 27. However, remote online casino play and historical horse racing machines remain prohibited following statutory or judicial limits.

Online Casino in Louisiana

Sports betting in Louisiana has been fully legal since 2022. The Bayou state has always had a unique approach to it’s gambling legislation, so it makes sense that sports betting in Louisiana also comes with distinct bylaws. While most states that have legalized sports gambling simply enact a state wide mandate, Louisiana passed a referendum that each parish, or county, would vote on whether or not to allow live and online sports betting.
