Here, we present all you need to know about one of the legends of the gaming world.

New WMS Gaming Slot Reviews

First entering the slot machine industry in 1994, WMS initially targeted the brick-and-mortar casino market. Never afraid to adjust to the times, the company soon leapt into the exploding online slot scene, using its vast gaming pedigree to fashion a catalogue of memorable slot experiences. Soon, players were eagerly anticipating the latest WMS slot.

Few developers boast a heritage to match that of WMS, which is just one reason why players are always keen to take their games for a spin. Our slot review team certainly needs little encouragement to run the rule over a WMS release – resulting in the following WMS online slot review section. Take your pick from the titles below to learn all about the game’s mechanics, bonus features, max win, and more.

History & Information About WMS Gaming

The history of some developers is relatively brief. Others could quite comfortably inspire a reasonably sized book. WMS falls into the latter category.

Initially springing into life as Williams Manufacturing Company in 1943, the WMS journey has encompassed a total of naming alterations and subsidiary businesses, only surpassed by the total of hit games it has bestowed upon the market.

  • 1943 – Williams Manufacturing Group founded by Harry E. Williams - with it initially focusing on the pinball market
  • 1959 – Renamed as the Williams Electronic Manufacturing Corporation
  • 1964 – Purchased by Seeburg Corporation
  • 1967 – Renamed as Williams Electronics
  • 1973 – Branches out into coin-operated arcade games – subsequently releasing smash-hit titles including Paddle Ball, Defender, and Robotron: 2084
  • 1981 – Williams Electronics becomes an independent company
  • 1987 – Publicly listed as WMS Industries, Inc.
  • 1988 – Acquires Bally/Midway. The video gaming division moves under the Midway banner – the same Midway which would create the global phenomenon Mortal Kombat.
  • 1991 – WMS Gaming subsidiary set up to oversee Video Lottery Terminals and Gaming Manufacture
  • 1994 – WMS Gaming produces their first casino slot machines
  • 1999 – Pinball division shuts down
  • 2001 – Releases its first Monopoly “participation slot”. Networking between casinos created the potential for huge linked jackpots.
  • 2010 – Begins offering online gaming in the UK
  • 2011 – Begins offering online gaming in the US
  • 2013 – Becomes a subsidiary of Scientific Games
  • 2014 – Releases the brilliant online slot, Zeus
  • 2016 – Scientific Games pays $1.5 billion to fully merge with WMS
  • 2022 – Scientific Games becomes Light & Wonder
